Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy treatment consists of the therapeutic use of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is injected subcutaneously (under the skin). The CO2 stimulates an enzyme (lipoprotein lipase) that breaks down fat (triglycerides) and produces a high consumption of oxygen from the fatty cells (adipocytes). This causes the blood vessels to open and increases the blood flow to the poorly supplied cellulite tissue. By re-establishing the correct blood flow to cellulite areas and improving the lymphatic drainage, the cellulite lumpiness is reduced.

Carboxytherapy is a safe and effective procedure, which may be used on everybody wherever fat is present, without causing either systemic toxicity or side effects as CO2 is non-toxic when injected below the skin. There may be a sensation at the needle insertion point which will last a couple of minutes. The Carboxytherapy procedure takes between 30-40 minutes and requires two weekly sessions when done alone or one session a week when combined with other techniques.
